Homegrown Mississauga: Apples, Art & Seed Saving

Indoor Food available

Join us for an evening of connection, learning, and local food at the Small Arms Inspection Building. Whether you're an experienced gardener, community grower, an environmental artist, or simply interested in food growing, this event is an opportunity to meet others who share a passion for urban agriculture in Mississauga.

The evening will feature a presentation on Orchard, artist Diane Borsato's public artwork celebrating Mississauga's agricultural communities. Diane will share the story behind this urban apple orchard and offer a tasting of different apple varieties to recognize the fall harvest season and the benefits of eating locally and seasonally.

Participants will also hear from the Mississauga Seed Library about its seed lending program and take part in a hands-on seed-saving demonstration.

Inspired by feedback from the Homegrown Mississauga Urban Agriculture Roundtable, this gathering supports implementation of the City's Urban Agriculture Strategy by creating opportunities for residents to connect, share knowledge, and build community around local food.

Light refreshments will be provided, with plenty of time for informal conversation, storytelling, and networking. Come learn about local resources, celebrate the people and projects helping to grow food in Mississauga, and connect with others interested in building a stronger local food community.

On-site registrations begin at 6pm; event begins at 6:30pm.
